Lincoln City Councilwoman Leirion Gaylor Baird will run for a second term as an at-large representative.
Gaylor Baird, who serves as chairwoman of the council, said she is proud of what the city has accomplished over the past four years, and is “committed to doing even more to build a strong future for Lincoln.”
In a news release announcing her candidacy, she cited improvements in streets and sidewalks, numbers of police and emergency responders and the resources available to them and her commitment to neighborhoods and services like libraries and parks.
“We are investing in streets at historic levels and repairing sidewalks and more miles of water mains each year,” she said. “We fully funded the South Beltway and have kept our commitment to our neighborhoods by increasing residential street improvements. We are getting the job done.
